Description
Very original TR6 with sensible modern upgrades. Some marks but overall excellent condition. Never welded. Very well maintained and much loved by current owner for last 12yrs. No known faults, starts and run with a strong engine, fully functioning 4 speed box with J type overdrive on 4th and 5th. Digital period radio, enertia seat belts. Unmarked roof and mohair roof cover. Good points/ things I have added amended since purchase. Engine rebuild including gasflow of ports and unleaded valve seats upgtade, mild road cam. This rebuild was completed within the first 3yrs of ownership and is well bedded in and proven. Enertia seat belts (origninals available)Full bore free flowing exhaust inc headers headers (original available)Metering unit servicedNew uprated front wheel hubs. Lucas fuel pump replaced by bosch pump fitted in wheel well.. boot adapted accordingly. New period tyres fitted 18mnth ago. Rear telelever dampers overhauled. New springs fitted alround (uprated to front)New high flow alu radiator with thermostatically controlled fan + additional manual fan. (Fitted prior to ownership)K&N air filter. Screw on oil filter adapter (fitter prior to ownership)Electronic ignition (fitted prior to ownership)High capacity finned alu sump. Uprated alternator. Motolite stearing wheel (original available)Car was advertised last summer which highlighted a 'sticky clutch' and syncro from 4th to 3rd on it way out... Gearbox has been reconditioned addressing these points with new syncro rings on all gears, new uprated release bearing, bearing carrier and bearing carrier sleeve. Rebuilt replacing all bearing and seals where appropriate. Bad points. No real world bad points, imperfections if you will, such as... Windscreen has started delaminating, on drivers side, but was like this when I bought it and has not worsened in my 12 years of ownership (Think they call it patina these days!)Small crack in paint on passenger side rear wing infront of wheel arch (see photo). Again, always been there, never got any worse in 12 years. I fitted a lightened flywheel when fitting the mild road cam but found it a bit much so put the original one back in when sorting the box (nearly new laycock clutch fitted with a spare inc for the purist)The car drives really well, strong engine which will exceed motorway speeds with easy all day long. After years of adapting, sorting and fine tuning I can confidently jump in her and tootle to lake Como any time without fear or hesitation. Last years trip was the Rhône Valley for two weeks without hiccup. Real head turner but be aware the exhaust is 'noticable'. New owner can easily return it to normal (original exhaust available)Original cam is also available, currently wrapped in oiled wrags. Just be aware!I like it, so I wont be replacing these items on the off chance of a sale. The car is being used almost daily in this weather and whilst it is true Im putting her up for sale, it is to release space and funds for my next dream, I am enjoying her and more interested in a good home than a quick sale. Absolute mountain of history. Full A4 file with previous owners details recipts and invoices going back to the seventies. Heretige certificate. Et cetera. If if get to the stage where you want to make an offer you will be invited research the documents that I have to datisfy your self of the originality of this car.... not imported.... not converted... never restored, just continually maintained and loved.
