1965 MGB Roadster – C-Reg Pull-Handle
A genuine 1965 MGB Roadster, C-registration, featuring the desirable early pull-handle doors and retaining its original three-main-bearing engine and banjo differential.
This MGB has been in the same family ownership for nearly 50 years and is now offered as a restoration project. The car was fully functional before being put into storage but is currently not running. It is movable but will require collection by trailer.
The Restoration
The car has been partly dismantled in preparation for restoration. All parts removed have been carefully stored and retained, ready for restoration and reassembly.
The bodywork and sills are solid, providing a good basis for a comprehensive restoration. The original factory colour was Iris Blue. The car has been painted twice during its lifetime and there is evidence of micro-blistering, believed to be the result of moisture becoming trapped between the paint layers.
The car would benefit from a sympathetic restoration, potentially returning it to its original Iris Blue specification.
Parts Already Acquired
A number of new parts have been purchased and are included with the car:
* New fuel tank and sender – fitted
* Full stainless-steel exhaust – new, not fitted
* New oil cooler and pipes – not fitted
* New uprated rear leaf springs – not fitted
* Numerous new servicing and recommissioning parts
* Original leather seats, which have been re-foamed
* All dismantled components carefully stored for reassembly
* There is no hood, but the complete hood frame and headrail are present.
