Description
In brief: 2013 Alpina B3 Bi Turbo #040, FSH, £7k engine rebuild 5000 miles ago, ULEZ compliant, offers around £30, 000
Wolstenholme’s Cars are proud to present this fantastic Alpina B3 Bi Turbo, 1 of 8 F30-generation B3s that came to the UK, and the only one finished in the timeless combination of black over red.
Specifically, Sapphire metallic with high-gloss Shadowline details over a beautiful deep red Coral leather with black highlights, set off by high-gloss piano black trims and sport red panel stripes. Optional equipment brought the new price up to a whopping £85k (adjusted for inflation).
The professional ceramic coating, full service history, clean MOT record and remarkably scratch-free piano black trims speak volumes about how this car has been looked after by its previous owners, the last of which had the car for three years.
Highly specified when new (detailed below), it has extensive history following that. Just 5000 miles ago it had a complete engine rebuild, costing £7000, and has had two services since, most recently at 85, 000 miles.
The alloys have been recently refurbished and wear Toyo Proxes Sport 2 tyres with in excess of 6mm tread. Only minor wear on the steering wheel and road rash on the front bumper from motorway miles give away this car’s age. F30 LCI ‘Icon’ LEDs are available to be fitted.
With 410hp and a massive 600Nm of torque, the petrol Alpina B3 should not be confused with the more common diesel D3. Quicker than an M3 at launch, hitting 0-60mph in just over 4 secs and on to a 190mph top speed, it is relentlessly fast. An Alpina specific suspension set up keeps the car planted, while the 8-speed ZF gearbox comes with Switch-Tronic technology.
Despite the performance on offer, average fuel economy is a very respectable 37mpg, and road tax for the year is just £360, less than half that of an M3. It’s practical too, with five seats and a 480 litre boot.
