Description
Porsche 987 Boxster 2. 7 Manual — Arctic Silver — 2005
A genuine, well-used yet well-maintained 987 with a long MOT history, meaningful mechanical work in the right areas, and an honest paper trail — gaps and all.
This Boxster has been regularly used and maintained over 21 years. The suspension has been refreshed with quality Bilstein components front and rear, a comprehensive major service was carried out at a Porsche specialist at 68, 000 miles including clutch and IMS seal work, and the braking system has seen consistent attention throughout its life. A sports exhaust was fitted in 2022 and the car sounds great — characterful and purposeful without being tiresome on a longer run. The paper trail is detailed where it exists, all available documents are presented with the car.

Interior
In very good condition, drivers’ bolster has some wear as you would expect on a car of this age and mileage. Otherwise, it is a genuinely lovely place to be, with its full blue leather. Sat Nav screen is clear and bright and fully functional, and CD/ radio work perfectly.
Exterior
Bodywork is very glossy in good order with some wear that is typical at this age and usage. Lights are clear, like new, the 911 rims are pretty perfect having recently been refurbished, with Pirelli P Zeros. The roof is excellent, waterproof with no rips or tears.
On the road
Performance is solid and brisk, even by today’s standards. The exhaust note comes to life when driven enthusiastically yet is fine in traffic and on long runs. The car holds the corners very well, as you would expect and there are no nasty knocks or bangs.
Colour note
The car had a metallic blue wrap for a period, correctly notified to DVLA as a colour change at the time. The wrap has since been removed and the DVLA record updated back to Arctic Silver. The paintwork underneath has been well preserved by the wrap, and there’s no tar spots to remove. Overall bodywork is very good with some signs of age consistent with a 21-year-old car that has been used and enjoyed.
Notable Mechanical work carried out (documented)
Engine and drivetrain — Major service at a Porsche specialist at 68k miles: clutch, coil packs x6, spark plugs, auxiliary belt, rear main oil seal, intermediate shaft seal, all filters.
Most recent oil and filter change carried out April 2026. Note: as with many cars of this age, there are gaps in the oil change paper trail — the car has clearly been well maintained but not every routine service was documented.
Cooling system — Water pump replaced at 82, 000 miles with full coolant drain, refill and bleed.
Suspension refresh — Front: Bilstein B6 dampers, new coil springs, top mounts with bearings, drop links (2019). Rear: Bilstein B4 dampers, new coil springs, top mounts, drop links, bump stop kit (2022). Wheel alignment carried out on both occasions.
Braking system — All four corners renewed at 68, 000-mile service: pads, discs and sensors. Handbrake mechanism repaired and two brake pipes replaced (2016). Rear handbrake shoes renewed (2022). Note: front brake pipe corrosion has been a recurring advisory on recent MOTs and is worth monitoring. Discs have loads of life left in them, fronts are particularly good.
Exhaust — Sports exhaust system fitted January 2022. Sounds purposeful and characterful without being intrusive at motorway speeds. The OEM exhaust is available as well if needed, subject to separate negotiation.
What to know before you view
Air conditioning is present but not currently working
Rear brake discs were noted as worn at the October 2025 MOT, but in reality these are only slightly lipped.
All invoices, MOT certificates and V5C available for inspection on viewing. Genuinely reluctant sale — only selling to fund another Porsche coming soon.
No warranty or returns. Deposit of £250 required on confirmation of purchase, full balance in cash or cleared funds on collection, please.
To sum up, my impression of this 987 is that it is a fantastic, highly usable sports car that you can use daily, polish and cherish be proud of at car meets. Of course, to set expectation, it’s is not perfect at this age, but it is a lot better than many out there. As noted above, and as to be expected at this age, there are jobs that will need to be done, and I have priced the car with this taken into account, so the price is firm, for what is surely one of the best Boxsters in the UK at this price point. Please come and view the car anytime.
