Vehicle History
1. How many owners has the vehicle had?
The car has been in my ownership since it was first registered. I purchased the BMW 740iL new in 1992 and I am therefore the first and only owner from new.
2. What inspections have been carried out? Has the vehicle had a roadworthiness inspection (HU/ TÜV)?
The most recent German roadworthiness inspection (HU/ TÜV) was carried out in October 2024 and is valid until October 2026.
3. When and where was the vehicle purchased?
I purchased the car new in 1992 directly from BMW in Munich, Germany.
4. Is there anything in the vehicle's history that requires further explanation?
The vehicle is accident-free. Over the years, only minor areas have been repainted.
The BMW was generally not driven during the winter months. It was registered with a seasonal registration and was taken off the road every year from the beginning of November until the end of March.
The automatic transmission was completely overhauled in March 2023.
In 2024, the suspension system was extensively renewed, including the shock absorbers, springs and self-levelling suspension system.
The headlining requires replacement, as the fabric has come loose due to age.
Overall, this is a BMW 740iL with an exceptionally transparent and traceable history: one owner from new, purchased directly from BMW in Munich, accident-free, and for many years driven only outside the winter months.
I originally purchased the car as a right-hand-drive vehicle with the intention of exporting it to Australia. Unfortunately, those plans had to be abandoned for health reasons.
However, by that time I had become so attached to the car that I simply could not bring myself to part with my dream car.
I have therefore kept it ever since – and even today, every single drive is a wonderful experience.
