1978 Yamaha DT400MX (Enduro), this is an american import bike in great original condition.
Manufactured date is October 1977, first registered in 1978.
I have no record of the number of owners the bike has had but, I do have the NOVA documentation which has allowed me to establish that I am the third owner since its arrival into the UK in 2017.
I bought the machine from a private seller during late 2017 and have started and ridden it virtually each week. The engine starts and runs extremely well, I have changed the transmission oil each year and use a lead replacement additive in the fuel, the bike is still running its original auto-lube system.
I have fitted a period DEP exhaust tail pipe which sounds fab.
As the bike is now 48 years old it is both Tax and MOT exempt, the bike is maintained in a good road worthy condition and wears Pirelli MT43 Trials pattern tyres front and rear.
This is a great opportunity to own one of the best last big 2 stroke trail bikes which is becoming increasingly rare.
I bought this machine as soon as I saw it and heard it running, it looked amazing in its original yellow and black colour scheme and turns many heads when I take it out. I wanted a machine that reminded me of my youth and of the machines that I used to ride and it certainly delivers.
