Full nut and bolt restoration by Millennium in July 2023. New carpets, tyres, screen rubbers, loads of welding, new front wings, added a 12V socket for mobile phone charging. Servo brakes, a new subtle hazard warning switch, halogen lights.
Well looked after since then, and dry garaged. Lots of service history. Serviced and MOT'd and wax oiled every year I have had her (waiting for a buyer to put a fresh on MOT on this year).
Starts every time, reliable and sounds good. She is not concourse on account of needing a full re-spray. Millennium painted her but the colour of the roof doesn't match the wings, bonnet and boot. A car to be driven and enjoyed. Reluctant sale as moving and won't have a garage.
First registered on 15 July 1966 in Guildford, this minor has the smells and sounds to take you back, or at least it did me to 1970s. My mum had a minor saloon as a district nurse and used to pick us up from school in it. Whilst this is not the same car, it has the power to evoke strong memories of happy times, designed by the genius of Sir Alec Issigonis.
I am the 8th owner, since her start in Guildford she has spent all her life in the North West of England - Cheadle Hulme, Prestwich, Warrington and Bury.
She goes easily at 50-60 mph and I have taken her on a motorway. I have loved driving her to meets, she always attracted a lot of attention due to her quirky two tone appearance. Again not concourse but it meant that I was never too worried about paint chips from loose gravel on roads. The fact that she is rust free and reliable always meant more to me.
