Description
1968 Mustang in Highland Green with the 289 V8 & C4 transmission. It was a Texas car until 2019 when it was imported to the UK. I bought it just over a year ago from a lady who had it stored & maintained by her local dealership. All paperwork for the import and general service items will be included in the folder, along with a haynes-style workshop manual which has all the diagrams and information anyone could ever need for these cars.
The price is negotiable, but I'd rather you come see the car yourself first - it's a beauty! It's not a concourse condition showroom ready car, but it's an excellent driver's car that gets a lot of looks/ compliments, and you'll have people chatting to you in every petrol station visit! It sounds glorious, looks even better and I'm going to miss this car a lot, but it's time for a new owner to cherish it like I have.
The interior is fantastic on this car, the carpets are in great condition, all 4 seats are in excellent condition with no tears or wear marks, as are both door cards. The dashboard & clocks all work as they should, along with the interior dome light, dash lights, radio, and hi-beam indicator.
The exterior is in great condition, with the paint being the gorgeous highland green, it really pops in the sun. there are a few small points that let it down, there are two very small splits in the paint on the driver's side roof line, where it curves down. It was there when I bought it and hasn't gotten any worse. The second point is the boot lid, I'm not sure if it just wasn't prepped as well as the rest of the car, but it has some minor bubbling, noticeable when you're up close. The wheels are all in good condition, with some pitting in the chrome where I think water has sat, however they are a decent 8/ 10 and shine up well with some polish. It has all the chrome bits, some small blemishes here and there, but as I say it's a driver's car and not perfect showroom spec.
The engine is a 289 (4. 7L) V8, with an edelbrock intake manifold, Edelbrock E-Street heads, and an upgraded Holly QFT 4-barrel carb, which I've only ever run on Shell premium fuel. It has the long oval style air cleaner, which suits the export brace & monty carlo bar. It's got a nice big aluminium radiator with an electronic thermostatically controlled fan to keep it cool. With it being a Texas car the thermostat was a 71C, so I changed it to the manufacturer recommended 81C, and changed the housing + gasket at same time, when I was doing the coolant change. It had engine oil + filter, transmission oil + filter, and tyres around 20 miles ago.

Bad bits:
1- Passenger door doesn't unlock with the key, not 100% sure if it's the rod inside or just the barrel is stuck. Still opens on the button, and locks/ unlocks from inside.
2- Boot lid has some small bubbling.
3- Very small split in paint on driver side roof line.
4- Small leak from transmission band adjustment nut - I've ordered new one to fix this and will fit it when they arrive.
5- AC doesn't blow cold, still heats up nicely, could just be the fuse so I'll swap and update if fixed. Still has gas in the system.
