The car is complete, running and retains much of its original character. The engine is in working order, holds a steady idle and the car moves without issues. The clutch is functional and the battery is new, recently purchased and installed. The indicated mileage is approximately 53, 739 km.
From a mechanical standpoint the car presents very well and, as far as can be determined, requires no major engine work. The engine bay would primarily benefit from cleaning, detailing and cosmetic restoration rather than substantial mechanical work.
The car is in preserved condition, not restored. The bodywork shows the normal signs of age and some areas that would benefit from cosmetic restoration and finishing. The car has been repainted during its life and the current colour does not match the original factory finish. There are some small areas of surface corrosion, particularly on some edges and lower sections, along with minor work needed on the underside.
The interior maintains a very original specification. The rear seat and front passenger seat are well preserved, whilst the driver's seat requires retrimming. The headlining also has some imperfections and would benefit from restoration.
Several details and trim items require attention, including the driver's door handle, the driver's window winder, some seals and channels for the rear windows, trim strips, seat rubbers, parcel shelf, some wiring, pedal rubbers and some elements of the washer system. The dashboard has a crack in the upper section.
The spare wheel is present as a tyre, but the wheel rim is missing. The windscreen has two small superficial marks, each smaller than a 2 euro coin.
Overall, the restoration required is relatively light and almost entirely cosmetic and finishing in nature. Because the mechanical base is sound and the car is complete, the project can be tackled with a sustainable investment compared to a full restoration. It is therefore a particularly interesting base for anyone wishing to gradually bring a Clubman Estate to a much better condition without undertaking a complete rebuild. No invasive recent restoration work has been carried out: the value of the car lies precisely in being a complete, authentic and still very legible base, ideal either for being preserved in its current state or for progressive restoration.

This Austin Mini Clubman Estate 1000 has belonged to our family for many years.
The car was purchased by my grandfather and subsequently given to me. For this reason it represents far more than simply an old motor car to us—it is a piece of family history that we have preserved over time.
The decision to sell it does not stem from any particular problems with the car, but solely from a matter of space. We are enthusiasts of classic motorcars and own several vehicles; recently we acquired a new classic car and, no longer having sufficient space to keep all our cars in the condition they deserve, we were forced to choose one to let go.
The Clubman Estate stands out particularly for its distinctive family configuration, far less common than the traditional Mini saloon. Its proportions, rear load space and characteristic rear doors give it an immediately recognisable personality and make it particularly appealing to those who appreciate the less common variants within the Mini family.
What has always struck me most about this Mini is the sound of the engine: meaty, full of character and with a personality you wouldn't expect from such a modest capacity. It's one of those details that immediately explains why these cars continue to hold such appeal, along with their mechanical simplicity and the distinctly British character of the machine.
Another aspect I find particularly interesting is that the car has remained in the family and has not been subjected to heavy restoration or radical modifications. It therefore still presents as a very legible base, with the opportunity for the future owner to decide whether to preserve its current character or proceed with more thorough restoration.
