Thistle Green metallic Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC, with green leather and two-tone green dash.
Car is currently not running (fuel hose perished) but ran when parked (2 years ago!).
In need of restoration or suitable for spares. I have owned for just over 10 years, during which time it has received many new parts (including all four discs) but sadly have let it get a little neglected. Has rust especially on NS front wing, however the doors, bonnet and boot plus under rear screen (common rust spot on these) all in excellent order. All glass is in good order.
Apologies for lack of current photos (those of it outside lock-up garage are very recent - others not) but am currently unable to get it out of the lock-up for more current images beyond those here with hole showing in wing. Happy to show the car - will require trailer to move.
Has much history and much information about the car documented. All-round electric windows and electric sunroof (all functioning when last running).
First registered Jan 1980, and is registered as tax- and MOT-exempt.
Brand new battery (unused). Good chrome on both bumpers, and lights all good. Has the rare rubber bootlid spoiler (and with correct springs so bootlid opens as it should). Comes with classic Mexican hat alloys (including the spare).
Wish I could keep it but sadly had to move it to a lock-up two years ago, since when it has been neglected - it needs to go.
Would be a useful spares car, or a project to restore.
Interior is in good nick - dash has no splits or cracks.
Recorded mileage on odometer is lower than actual mileage - documented in service book - as odometer was changed during its life. Real mileage is around 120k.
The C107 SLC is a much more interesting option than the more common R107 SL. It's a coupe made from a convertible - Mercedes added around a foot to the wheelbase, making it a real proper four-seater (in fact it has five seatbelts). At over 6ft I can sit behind myself, as it were. The ride is also softer than that of an SL - it's a really comfy cruiser, and with the sunroof open and all four windows down. this is a super-cool cruiser.
The Thistle Green paint with matching green leather interior is very period and looks great - it's a really lovely colour.
This car is identical in spec to one that Cruz Beckham has been seen driving around West London (same colour and model).
