I'm offering this car for recommissioning/ light restoration. I bought it nine years ago to improve as it was a running driving car then, ran it up and down my road a few times and it drove very well with only spongy brakes worth noting. Sadly though she was pushed to the back of the queue so many times as other cars came along and has effectively just been sitting waiting although she has been regularly started and always starts easily. I've decided that the time has come to let someone else have a go at getting her back on the road which won't take a lot, mainly recommissioning stuff due to the passage of time and lack of use olus a few small repairs. There is some limited MOT history on the DVLA website.
The previous owner had started to attack the cosmetics and was using her regularly but then bought something else. This car is not full of filler.
Good bits - overall the car is good and strong particularly in the sort of places these cars usually go. It still has its original jacking points, good front crossmember, sills look to have been replaced not long before I bought the car, again these are good and strong but will need minor cosmetic tidying up in a few small areas, good inner rear wheel arches, rear spring hangers are sound, rear wing to roof seams are very good, no rot to bottom of the boot lid or rear valance, rear door arches are sound and still have original seals, floors are excellent. Also it has rear seatbelts fitted. Interior is very tidy. Exhaust is sound, no blows or leaks, front panel is steel, wings are fibreglass. Rear windscreen doesn't leak but the chrome finisher in the rubber seal is coming loose at the corners. It will need new wiper blades and probably a new throttle pedal as that is a bit sticky. Paintwork is sound but tired in places especially the roof which has faint discolouration from being stored under a cover .
Bad bits - the nearside chassis leg needs a plate of around 7", the bottom of the front offside wheel arch has two very small 2" diameter holes but the surrounding area is strong. Bottom front corner of offside rear wing has a small hole, non structural and not visible from normal view.
She's always been a good starter but after a lapse of 18 months from starting her up there is a fuel delivery problem to the carbs, suspect blocked fuel line but might be blockage in the tank (can hear fuel trying to get through but I don't have access to an air compressor to try blowing it through) so the car comes comes with a spare good fuel tank just in case. The engine shows good oil pressure on start up, I can send a short recent video.
Will need attention to both brake and clutch hydraulics simply due to time it's been standing. The original front wing chrome spears and 'Riley One Point Five' name scripts are with the car.
Having replaced the front panel panel on the car with a very good one I have left the front end components loosely fitted as it would benefit from time spent adjusting and fettling the panel setup in particular the bonnet release catch which is currently tempramental.

With five Rileys I'm unlikely to get to this one anytime soon so its better to let her go to someone who has the time to sort out the bits and pieces she needs. Priced realistically for what she is and far too good to break and she deserves a bit of love and attention from a new owner.
