1998 Renault Clio Automatic – Charming Classic French Hatchback
A lovely opportunity to own a 1998 Renault Clio automatic, now a genuine little classic and increasingly hard to find in original form.
The car runs well and drives nicely, and has benefited from a good amount of recent mechanical work over the last six months, including:
* New front-section exhaust
* New battery
* New ball joint
* Coil plugs replaced
* New tensioner
* New alternator
The car does have some age-related cosmetic wear and scuffs, as you would expect from a vehicle of this age, but it remains a great little characterful classic and would make an ideal first classic, weekend car or project for someone who appreciates 1990s Renaults.
Important note
The battery warning light is currently illuminated. I have had this checked by a mechanic, who has advised that it is an electrical issue rather than a fault with the car’s charging system/ mechanical components. It can be cleared, but I have deliberately left the light showing for complete transparency to the buyer.
Being an automatic, it is an easy and enjoyable car to drive, and the recent expenditure means a number of key items have already been attended to.
