Description
Selling my ultra rare petrol manual Jaguar S-type. This is one of the first made in March 1999 on a T registration.
I am the 2nd owner from new. Previous elderly titled owner lived in North London and didn't do many miles.
It has just past it's MOT, so has a full year to October 5th 2027.
I don't have much service history for it, because it came from a deceased estate but the owners leather hand book pack is there.
It comes on the 17 inch multi spoke wheels with good tyres, shown in the 2nd picture but the ones in the other pictures are available if wanted except they have perished tyres.
Mechanically sound. Has never been welded and doesn't need to be. However, it is almost 28 years old, so expect some surface corrosion underneath.
Known issues:
The subframe does have surface corrosion and would benefit from being stripped / painted or treated with Lanoguard.
There is a small dent on the drivers front wing which was done by the previous owner getting it out of his garage so I was told.
The headlining was sagging and has been pinned up pretty tidily.
The front windscreen pillar cloth trims were peeling off and have been glued not very well.
The rear Windows are not working. Both regulators will need replacing. The motors and electrics are fine.
AC blows cold intermittently and heater doesn't seem to be getting hot.
Paintwork has lacquer craze on roof bonnet and boot.
Ivory leather is old but still fairly presentable. I think someone has tried to treat it with colour match restorer at some point but it looks like it wasn't the right shade. There are some odd colour inconsistencies if you get close up to it.
This is a usable pre millennial classic car that needs some small things doing to make perfect.
You do not see the manuals very often and they command a premium. This will only go up in value. I think with everything done it would easily be a 5 to 6k car.
I have enjoyed owning / driving this car for around 3 years but I hope it can go to an enthusiast who will bring it back to it's former glory. It's a lovely car to drive with the manual gearbox and makes a change from all the these modern cars and EV's.
I am located near Rochester in Kent. I believe I am asking a fair price for what is a very rare and very difficult car to find. I am therefore not willing to negotiate. Thank you.
