Harley Davidson Custom Hardtail Bobber XLH 1200
Hello,
This ad is for my 1997 Custom Harley Davidson Hardtail Bobber in Metallic green with Gold pin-striping. It is based on a 883 Sportster which has been enlarged to 1200 using S&S Cylinders. I bought the bike 2 years ago from North West Customs in Warrington sight unseen just on its looks alone. I don't have any history on the bike it came with no paper work from the build. So I have replaced/ rebuilt a few parts. These include the following new parts.
Clutch - Barrett Xtra Plate Kit (removing the riveted one)
Clutch Pressure Plate
Clutch Cable
Oil change
Oil Filter
Primary Chain Tensioner
Spark Plugs (correctly gaped)
Fuel Line
Fuel Filter
Enrichener Assembly
Carb rebuild and rejet
Air intake trumpet and screen
Intake gaskets
Bigger Battery
The bike rides well, you have to bare in mind its 30 years old at heart so has a few character traits that you will need to learn to live with.
The mileage on the clock is 63535 it was 63069 when I purchased it. That is the original mileage of the Sportster donar bike I don't know how many miles it has done since the rebuild. It has an MOT until Jan 27 and is sold as seen with no Warranty implied or given.
If you want to view the bike or have questions please feel free to message me. I don't think I can put a link here to a Cold Start and Riding video but I have one on YouTube just message me for the link.
I have owned this bike for a couple of years and although it is deeply sad, I need to sell it as I am getting another bike. I would love to keep it but can't justify having the Harley just sit unused in a corner, just to be looked at, as lovely as it is.
I want it to go to someone who wants to ride it and let other people see it. It is definitely a bike that gets people chatting. People want to look at it and hear it.
It is a tinkerers dream this bike as you need to keep on top of everything.
It is fun to ride and once you get the rear tyre pressue set for your weight its surprisingly comfortable. If you watch the riding video you will see it rips but it is very happy in 5th just burbling along at 50 as well. The stance and look of the bike is fabulous, as I say I bought it sight unseen just one the looks alone.
