After 37 years of fun with us, I have to find a new owner for this amazing little car. She is very well known in Historic Racing circles, having had success and Class wins in Classic Saloons (CTCRC, twice overall Championship winner), HRDC, Masters, Top Hat etc.
Most importantly, as this is like selling one of the family to us, I would like her to be picked up and raced by a young enthusiast, so although you will see my price here, please talk to me if you fit the bill, and I'll see if I can help. She was first prepared as a race car 50 years ago, and id love to see her legacy continued. We have ALL the history, 30 plus box files from our ownership, one per year plus countless magazine features from drives and races by both Andrew and Mike Jordan (Mike raced a Minor against her in the Seventies, and has shared her with us more recently), Paul O'Neill twice, and loved it, plus Mark Hales and John Simister for articles in Motorsport, Motorsport News, Practical Classics, Octane etc. Bluebell has been invited to Goodwood several times since, the last being in 2022, and is still known to the selectors, but in 2012, for the first time BTCC did not clash, and Bluebell was invited. Matt Neal was selected to share her, but after breaking his wrist, we spoke to Andrew Jordan and he made his debut there. He loved it to the extent that he declared it the most fun he'd had at a race meeting. Then, after winning the BTCC in 2013 he set up JRT, the best historic race team currently, and not looked back.
She is on the button with all up to date kit for any competition. The engine is a gem, built by Paul Inch, still just one litre, to Formula Junior or Mini race spec, with a Farndon steel crank and special rods, happy to 8, 000 RPM, and has a perfect Dave Rae SC/ CR gearbox. Body work is pretty much all-steel, original heavy doors and boot but to the old HRDC weight and rules. And SO much more fun than those rolly-polly A35s!

After thirty years of sharing drives with my brother Mark, I have moved on to some hillclimbs, getting two Class wins in the Fassi series last year, but really she's a race car. I can recommend sharing in the longer HRDC races or CTCRC who run two races per weekend, as this shares costs.
Thats enough waffle. If you think you fit the bill, please get in touch. The price is just the car and all its history, with some basic spares, maybe all the trophies too, but I have a super BJ trailer and a bigger engine, another new gearbox and plenty more from thirty plus years. This sale will distress me, but if your the right person, I will do a deal.
