Selling my series 3 that I fully restored 13 years ago. I don't have the time to use it enough any more so needs to go to a new home.
I am the third owner and and fully restored it 13 years ago putting it on a galvanised chassis (with removable cross member), refurbishing the bulk head and fitting an Fairey overdrive. It was completely resprayed and the bulk head treated with wax oil to preserve it. Over the years I have fitted parabolic springs, electronic ignition, new ignition coil, air filter and a removable steering wheel. I have hundreds of picture of the restoration.
A new heavy duty clutch was fitted in 2020 along with new seats. It has just been serviced (September 2026) including new spark plugs, fuel filter, oil filter and Castrol classic oil 20w/ 50. I also carried out a coolant and brake fluid flush. A new battery and rear silencer. I have many of the original parts, steering wheel, air filter, hard top , rear door so can be converted back to a hard top.
It could do with being resprayed to bring it back to its full glory now. It occasionally jumps out of second gear on the overrun. Drives like it should and overdrive helps reduce the revs and noise in top gear. Last MOT in 2023 but would have n o problem going through again. MOT and tax exempt, ready to go and would make a great investment.
A solid example of this classic, built on a galvanized chassis, refurbished bulk head, parabolic springs and a fairey overdrive. Ready to drive away, its a great head turner being open top. Would make a great investment which will only appreciate over time.
