A remarkably original, very low-mileage Honda X8R-S showing just 4, 800 miles.
The bike spent approximately 14 years stored in a warm, dry garage and has now been carefully recommissioned by myself. It really is something of a time-warp example.
As part of the recommissioning it has had:
• New drive belt
• New battery
• New exhaust
• Front brake service kit
• New Michelin front and rear tyres
It has approximately 10 months MOT remaining.
Comes with its original owner’s manual, SmartWater identification number and V5C/ logbook in my name.
The Honda X8R is now becoming increasingly uncommon on UK roads, making a low-mileage, original example like this particularly interesting.
I’m selling it as a rare modern classic rather than simply an old 50cc scooter, and I’d really like it to go to someone who appreciates what it is and will continue to look after it.
With only 4, 800 miles, its long period of dry storage and the work carried out to recommission it, it would make a lovely addition to a collection or an unusual classic to enjoy.

I was attracted to this X8R-S because it is such an unusually low-mileage survivor. Having spent around 14 years stored in a warm, dry garage, it felt worth bringing back into use properly rather than allowing it to deteriorate.
I have recommissioned it with the intention of preserving what makes it special. At just 4, 800 miles, it has the feel of a bike that has somehow skipped a large part of the last 25 years.
What I particularly like is its originality and completeness, including the original owner’s manual and SmartWater identification. With X8Rs becoming increasingly uncommon, I would really like the next owner to be someone who appreciates it as a modern classic and continues to look after it.
