# Volkswagen Golf GTI 16V – H561 MPD
** A lovely, original and increasingly sought\-after Mk3 Golf GTI 16V**
Offered for sale is my ** Volkswagen Golf GTI 16V, registration H561 MPD**, which is in lovely, largely original condition and presents extremely well for its age.
The car was previously owned by a genuine ** car enthusiast**, who sadly passed away\. I recently acquired the Golf from his estate, and it is clear that it was a car that had been cared for and appreciated by its previous owner.
History & engine
There are a number of recent receipts for work carried out, which will be supplied with the car. Unfortunately, the earlier service history is no longer available. When the estate was being cleared, it appears that the older paperwork and service records were unfortunately disposed of.
I have also spoken to the mechanic who previously looked after the car. He advised that the previous owner had told him that a replacement engine had been fitted shortly before Covid by D&D Autos in Ashford, Kent and that the replacement engine had approximately 38, 000 miles on it at the time.
I have subsequently contacted D&D Autos to see if this could be independently confirmed. Unfortunately, they are unable to verify the work, as their computer systems were updated shortly after Covid and the relevant historical records are no longer available.
I have therefore included this information for ** complete transparency**, rather than presenting the engine mileage or replacement as independently verified.
Condition
The Golf remains in lovely original condition overall retaining the character and appearance of an original Mk3 GTI.
It is a very honest example and would make an excellent car for someone looking to enjoy an increasingly collectible classic Volkswagen, whether as a weekend car, addition to a collection or simply something a little different to the modern cars on the road today.
The fact that it has come directly from the estate of a previous enthusiast owner, together with the recent receipts and information supplied by the mechanic who maintained it, adds some interesting provenance to the car.
