Description
The only reason this car is for sale is due to the owner’s illness who is a very good friend of mine . He doesn’t have internet so I have volunteered to advertise it for him now for the details of this exceptional vehicle.
Welcome to the sale for an Austin Nash Metropolitan Series IV manufactured in 1961 finished in 2 tone Berkshire Green and Frost White with a contrasting White convertible roof. My friend has owned this car since 1997 and spent 3 years doing a bare shell restoration to an exceptional standard using old school skills and craftsmanship which was completed in the year 2000. 26 years on this car speaks for its self still in excellent condition. He used a rust free shell located in America and fully restored it to RHD with no expense spared, when completed he fully protected it with wax oil to preserve the car for the future. All of the chrome work was also redone as was the interior trim and convertible roof which are still in very good condition as is the tourniquet cover for when the roof is down.
The engine was fully rebuilt using new shells/ piston rings / oil pump and gaskets along with the cylinder head fully reconditioned. New clutch along with the gearbox reconditioned and back axle. New stainless steel exhaust and all brake components replaced. All suspension components checked and replaced as required and powder coated. Road wheels also repainted and new tyres fitted. I have included photos of the underside to show the condition and also the amount of wax oil applied. This car can be viewed on a ramp if required and I would encourage viewing of this vehicle to appreciate the condition and also to speak to the owner who will tell you every detail of the restoration and his ownership experience since restoration. We have recently fitted a new brake master cylinder and new battery. Any further questions or to arrange a viewing of this car located in Nuneaton Warwickshire please feel free to contact me and if I don’t know the answer I will get them for you or better still come and view this car.
