Description
This Long Wheelbase T5 was imported by me from Ireland in 2019 with 152, 000 miles on the clock, having been registered from new in September 2006. The log book is in my name and shows no former keepers due to it being registered in the UK by me. The service book shows two stamps so I only have the details since I purchased the van in 2019, and the former keeper information from 2017 that included a new turbo, cast inlet manifold, Starter motor, Water pump, Oil cooler, Rocker cover and gasket, vacuum pump seals, and rear engine mount. Also the van had lowered springs all round. In my a new driveshaft was fitted. The van was used by a builder in its past an so has quite a few scratches and small dents, there are some small areas of surface rust that need rubbing down and repainting. The MOT was passed in October this year with front discs and pads being the only advisory, they have now been replaced with new items and new tyres have been fitted. The van was converted in Covid to a day van/ camper conversion. I had three rear seats fitted (new from a ford transit) these have individual seat belts and can be removed or folded forward individually to give flexibility for up to 6 passengers, please see photos. A solar panel is fitted, with an inverter and leisure battery, interior lighting, TV with satellite TV (Dish comes with the van for Freesat). A fitted wardrobe, drop down table and seats are built-in, converted to a bed with comfortable foam seats/ mattress.
The van runs well, a new battery was fitted this year, with a power amplifier and uprated door speakers to fill the van with a nice sounding audio. The head unit is a Sony touchscreen with Apple car-play and reversing Camera. A Toilet is housed in a small cupboard, comes with a toilet tent. Earlier this year I purchased a new OLPRO Breeze Cocoon driveaway AirBeam awning and a bedroom extension (never used, only assembled once to see it up). The awning, bedroom extension, pop=up wardrobe, Toilet tent, carpet and canopy are housed in a roof-box and all come with the van.
I bought this van to convert to a camper in which I have enjoyed driving and sleeping in it on holidays to the South coast, Wales, France and Scotland. it has been reliable on those journeys and very comfortable, with the extra seats and the drive-away awning making for a great family camper or day van.
