Description
1996 Porsche 911 (993) Targa 3. 6 Manual – Arctic Silver – Exceptional History
A lovely one off example, in immaculate condition, the iconic Porsche 911 (993) Targa, finished in Arctic Silver with black leather interior, showing approximately 94, 100 miles.
This is a UK supplied, right hand drive 1996 example, featuring the desirable 285 bhp Varioram engine coupled with the 6 speed manual gearbox.
The 993 is widely admired as the final generation of the air cooled Porsche 911, and the Targa is a particularly distinctive model. Its electrically operated panoramic glass roof provides the best of both worlds, retaining the beautiful lines of the coupé while allowing open air motoring at the touch of a button.
** History and Maintenance**
One of the main attractions of this particular car is its excellent history and provenance.
It comes with an extensive history file, including the original purchase invoice, a fully stamped service book, original book pack, manuals and a comprehensive collection of maintenance invoices.
The car has been maintained by respected Porsche specialists PARR since 2012, providing a reassuring record of specialist care over the past 14 years.
At approximately 87, 000 miles, PARR carried out a top end engine rebuild, with the work documented in the history file.
The car has had just four previous owners and has clearly benefited from careful ownership throughout its life.
Its latest annual service was completed by PARR on 2nd October 2026, together with a fresh MOT, so it is ready for its next owner to enjoy.

The extensive history file, original purchase documentation and long standing maintenance relationship with PARR are particularly reassuring features of this example.
** The Driving Experience**
For me, the appeal of the 993 Targa is that it combines everything that makes an air cooled Porsche special with the practicality of a car that can still be thoroughly enjoyed on modern roads.
The naturally aspirated Varioram engine, 6 speed manual gearbox and unmistakable air cooled soundtrack make it a genuinely rewarding car to drive.
Whether enjoying a Sunday morning drive through the countryside or heading off on a longer European trip, the 993 remains a wonderful driver's car.
The Targa adds something special to that experience, with its distinctive glass roof giving the cabin a lovely open and airy feel.
** Final Thoughts**
Good examples of the 993 are becoming increasingly sought after, particularly cars with comprehensive history files and evidence of consistent specialist maintenance.
This example benefits from an excellent documented history, significant mechanical investment, a desirable specification and a fresh service and MOT.
A very special classic Porsche that has been a pleasure to own.
