Description
This BMW 325Ci Convertible was manufactured on 11 July 2006 at BMW's Regensburg plant and first registered in Switzerland on 21 July 2006.
The car is finished in Black Sapphire Metallic (475) with a contrasting cognac leather interior. It is powered by the naturally aspirated 2. 5-litre M54 straight-six engine (192 hp), paired with a five-speed manual gearbox.
Current mileage is approximately 139, 300 km.
Ownership history
The car was originally delivered new in Switzerland in July 2006. It is a genuine European-market, left-hand-drive example with a continuous, documented service history from new. It remained in Switzerland until 2021.
I purchased the car privately in March 2025 from a British gentleman permanently residing in Poland. He had previously arranged for the car to be imported from Switzerland through a reputable Polish specialist importer.
Like me, he was an enthusiast of the E46 generation and had bought the car for his own enjoyment. He eventually decided to sell it because he had too little time to drive it.
Service history and maintenance
The original BMW service book contains a continuous record of scheduled servicing at authorised BMW dealerships, starting with the pre-delivery inspection in July 2006.
Since arriving in Poland in 2021, the car has covered approximately 9, 000 km, primarily through recreational use.
During this period, over PLN 36, 000 (more than €8, 000) has been spent on servicing and mechanical maintenance, supported by detailed invoices.
Major work includes:
- Replacement of the valve cover with a genuine BMW part
- Replacement of the DISA valve and crankcase ventilation system
- Replacement of the oil filter housing gasket
- Replacement of the power steering pump and engine mounts
- Replacement of suspension bushes and rear springs
- Replacement of differential mounting bushes and driveshaft coupling
- Replacement of external manual gearshift linkage components
- Gearbox and differential oil changes
- Regular engine oil and filter servicing
- Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres
In 2026, the passenger airbag was also replaced as part of an official BMW safety recall campaign.
The latest engine oil service was carried out by an authorised BMW dealer in August 2026, at 139, 088 km.
The car comes with its original service book, owner's documentation folder, instruction manuals, two main keys, a service key and a set of maintenance invoices from its time in Poland.
Originality and equipment
The car remains in its original factory specification, without modifications or aftermarket accessories.
All body panels retain their original factory paintwork, protected by a ceramic coating.

- Fully automatic electric convertible roof
- Electrically adjustable and heated sports seats with memory
- Xenon headlights with adaptive cornering lights
- Automatic climate control
- Rear parking sensors
- Original BMW Business CD radio

The original BMW tool kit is also present. No hardtop is included.
Condition
The car is in very good overall mechanical and cosmetic condition, with normal signs of age and use.
The car is completely free of rust, and the underbody still retains its original factory-applied corrosion protection. There are no oil, coolant or any other fluid leaks.
The engine bay has deliberately not been cleaned or cosmetically detailed for the photographs, allowing prospective buyers to see its natural, unprepared condition.
The interior is well preserved, retaining its original upholstery and trim. All equipment and electrical features are fully functional. The convertible roof, including its mechanism and seals, is in excellent working condition and was recently inspected by a specialist, who found no maintenance or repairs necessary. The fabric roof has also been treated with a water-repellent protector.
The car has been kept in a garage year-round by both its previous owner and myself.
The original BMW alloy wheels show some cosmetic kerb marks, consistent with the car's age and use.
A small dent near a wheel arch has been professionally removed using paintless dent repair (PDR). A localised scratch remains in this area.
The vehicle is registered in Poland and available for inspection in Warsaw.

I have always had a soft spot for BMWs from this era. To me, they represent a time when BMW managed to combine elegant, understated design with excellent driving dynamics and a genuine connection between the car and its driver.
I had been following E46 Convertible listings for several years, looking for a particularly well-preserved, original example. Where I live, finding an E46 that has escaped heavy use, modifications or extensive restoration is becoming increasingly difficult. This was the first car I came across that truly met my expectations. When the advert appeared in March 2025, I arranged a test drive for the following morning. My wife came along, and stepping into the car for the first time felt like stepping into a time capsule. After the test drive, we decided to buy it on the spot.
What attracted me was not only its remarkable state of preservation and documented history, but also the classic combination of black paint and warm cognac leather. I believe the E46 Convertible has aged exceptionally well and remains one of BMW's most elegant designs.
What I enjoy most is its genuinely analogue driving experience. The naturally aspirated straight-six, hydraulic power steering, manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive provide a direct, mechanical connection between the driver and the car that has largely disappeared from modern vehicles. Even the gearbox ratios feel like they were chosen with driving pleasure in mind, rather than primarily to meet CO₂ emissions targets. It is not about outright speed, but about the way the car responds and feels on the road.
And the car is an absolute pleasure to drive. Even with the soft top up, the cabin is surprisingly quiet, with no excessive wind noise. The doors, windows and roof all seal remarkably well. The engine sounds fantastic – silky-smooth, refined and well-mannered in everyday driving, yet wonderfully eager to rev when you feel like having a little fun.
With the roof down and the wind deflector in place, I find open-top driving perfectly comfortable even at 120 km/ h – provided I'm wearing a cap, of course!
My wife and I are now looking for a convertible better suited to regular, everyday use, preferably with an automatic gearbox, which she would appreciate. Given how original and well-preserved this E46 is, we have also become somewhat reluctant to use it that way. I would be happy to see it go to someone who appreciates its character and originality as much as I do.
