I bought this lovely little bike to replace my Ducati GT that my knackered knees could no longer kick start. Having owned it since February 2026 and with very few miles covered it started to develop a misfire. I took it to my local garage hoping that it just needed a service. Disappointingly the mechanic, an excellent and very knowledgeable chap says it needs a rebore. He measured the compression on all four cylinders which vary between 110 and 135psi against a spec of 170psi. I have looked on line and a new set of 0. 5mm oversize pistons are under £200. However, my days of stripping engines down are long gone and the cost of paying to have someone do the work would not be worth it, in my opinion.
He also found a couple of other minor faults and advises replacing the coils and HT leads and caps which should not be too expensive. I toyed with doing this work to see if the bike ran adequately but it seems a bit pointless if the engine still needs re-boring. The oil filter bolt has seized and will need “removing” by some method or other.
The bike starts but it cut out on the way back from the garage and I had to push it home so I am selling as a non runner. It runs worse after the £295 service than before!
As you will see from the photos it is in very presentable condition. The paintwork has a few scratches and dings but everything is present and correct. The exhaust system seems to be after market but is like new, probably £1000 alone.
I cannot guarantee the mileage as it’s been imported, only sold in the USA and Germany, but the original stickers and decals are present so it has not been restored and presents as a bike that has not gone round the clock.
The previous owner spent over £2000 as per the two receipts shown. Please take a look at these as they detail the work carried out. As far as I can tell, with a re-bore and any other bits that you might want to do with the engine stripped, this will be an excellent little Honda 4, certainly a joy to ride.
