Description
1973 Honda CB350 Four – Excellent Original Example – Extensively Recommissioned
A lovely example of the increasingly sought-after Honda CB350 Four, presented in excellent overall condition and extensively mechanically recommissioned.
Originally imported from a private collector in Holland, the bike is now fully UK registered (FWX 606L) and has covered approximately 450 miles since the overhaul. It starts, runs and rides beautifully.
The bike retains its genuine original Honda four-into-four exhaust system, complete with the correct factory markings, all in exceptional condition. These are increasingly difficult to find, particularly in this condition, and are a real highlight of the bike.
The paintwork is excellent, with just a few honest age-related marks consistent with its 53 years. The chrome and general presentation are excellent, and the bike retains the character and charm of an original classic rather than having been subjected to a full cosmetic restoration or modification.
Mechanical work
The bike has undergone extensive mechanical recommissioning by a professional mechanic, including:
- Carburettors fully rebuilt
- New ignition coils and condenser
- Electrical system inspected and refurbished where required
- New starter motor
- New battery
- New tyres and inner tubes
- Brakes overhauled
- Lighting upgraded to LED
- Further mechanical work and servicing as required
The result is a mechanically sorted, reliable and enjoyable classic that has been properly ridden since recommissioning rather than simply prepared for sale.
Originality and extras
The original kilometre clocks have been replaced with MPH instruments for UK use, but the original clocks have been retained and will be included with the sale.
The bike also comes with a set of original Honda Hepco & Becker panniers, complete with the correct Hepco & Becker mounting frame specifically designed for the CB350 Four. A lovely period accessory that complements the bike and makes it surprisingly practical for longer rides. I have still retained the orginal chrome grab handle included with the sale if you wish to take this back to stock.
Condition
This is not a concours restoration, nor is it being advertised as one. It's a genuinely lovely, well-preserved example that presents exceptionally well while retaining its original character. This is the best I have seen in the UK so far even against so called 'concours' examples.
The only small job I would consider doing in the near future is replacing the clutch cable. A replacement cable is already included with the bike I have just not got round to it.
In my opinion, it's one of the nicest CB350 Fours I've come across in the UK. It attracts plenty of attention wherever it goes and is a real pleasure to ride.
### Reason for sale
Reluctantly selling to make way for a larger motorcycle. I've thoroughly enjoyed owning it and will be very sad to see it go.
£6, 495 – sensible offers might be considered if this moves fast but I will be reluctantly moving on any price so silly offers will be ignored. This is priced in relation to its condition, originality etc - its not your usual CB350f quickly imported and then banged on the road for sale.
UK registered: FWX 606L with Honda owners club dating certificate and matching numbers.
Viewing welcome by arrangement. Happy to answer any questions or provide further photographs / walk around video.
I bought this CB350 Four from a private collector in Holland because I wanted a really good, original example of one of Honda's most unusual and characterful motorcycles.
Introduced in 1972, the CB350 Four was the smallest four-cylinder motorcycle Honda ever put into production, with a beautifully engineered 347cc engine drawing on the company's remarkable Grand Prix racing heritage. It's also reputed to have been a personal favourite of Soichiro Honda himself.
Produced for just a few years, the CB350 Four was never officially sold in the UK, making it a relatively rare sight on British roads. It also laid the foundations for the better-known CB400 Four that followed.
What I love about it is the engineering and attention to detail. Four tiny cylinders, four carburettors and those wonderful four individual chrome exhausts on a 350cc motorcycle. It's a remarkable little machine and sounds unlike anything else of its size.
This particular example is especially nice, retaining its genuine original Honda factory exhausts in exceptional condition, excellent paintwork and plenty of original character. I've had it extensively mechanically recommissioned, and it now starts, runs and rides beautifully.
It's a bike that always attracts attention, particularly from people who know their classic Hondas. I've thoroughly enjoyed owning it and am only selling because I fancy something a little bigger. I'll be genuinely sad to see it go.
