A rare MG Y (A) from 1948 in immaculate condition, this vehicle has been in the hands of its current owner for some 30 years, having been acquired in Portugal from a collector. It underwent a complete restoration some 20 years ago, which saw extensive work carried out on the engine, suspension and paintwork, and has been impeccably maintained and very well preserved to this day. It is practically used at classic vehicle events, having a constant presence with many stories to tell, and is recognised by the body representing FIVA in Portugal, the Clube Português de Automoveis Antigos (CPAA), as a vehicle of historic interest. G, was produced between 1947 and 1953, and has a 1, 250 cm3 petrol engine developing 46 bhp. This version has a number of special features that make it more exclusive than some of its direct competitors of the time, such as the interior entirely in synthetic leather, with a wooden panel and very distinctive octagonal-shaped gauges, sunroof, indicators, spare wheel in its own compartment, outside and under the boot, opening front window, low beam key and high beam button on the foot.
