Description
Carlo Francesco Lombardi, the son of a wealthy rice-growing family, founded his coachbuilder in Vercelli in 1947. Like most of his well-known and lesser-known counterparts, the modest Lombardi coachbuilder built special fiat cars that were slightly modified and often packed with flashy accessories. The fiat 850 with its rear overhang engine, the equivalent of our Renault 8 and Simca 1000, was produced in numerous special body variants during the 1960s. An interesting sports coupé, called the Grand Prix, was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1968. This time it was not a simple remodelling, but a genuine creation. The attractive, well-proportioned coupé, with its retractable headlights, attracted two Italian tuners, Abarth and Giannini. Both were to market the grand prix coupé alongside Lombardi, under the name scorpione for the former and Otas 820 for the latter. The scorpione was unveiled at the Turin and Paris Motor Shows. A magnificent Otas Lombardi scorpione grand prix coupé from 1968, in very good condition! Its sporty lines give it an incredible charm, and its engine will never cease to make you want to rev it up! This model is hard to come by, and our car is number 33 out of 120. This vehicle is not to be missed and can be seen in our showroom in Salins-les-Bains. Don't hesitate to come and visit us! For more information, we invite you to contact us directly by telephone so that we can discuss your project together.
