The Jidé company, led by Jacques Durand, produced only 130 vehicles between 1969 and 1974. In the beginning the cars were built on the mechanical basis of the R8 Gordini; later the 1600S was fitted with the engine from the R12 Gordini. After selling Jidé, Mr. Durand founded Scora, which built further sports cars, but that is another story.... This Jidé was fully restored between 2019 and 2022. It was prepared to be eligible for Group 5 as it was back then. The car to this day has no HTP, but that is of course possible thanks to the tuner based in Aquitaine who oversaw its restoration. The light blue paintwork “Hafa” was chosen as a homage to Jean Ragnotti’s 1972 livery. At the wheel, the car impresses with immaculate on-road handling. Steady on the ground, the braking is solid. The R12 Gordini engine, delivering around 150 hp, sings in the driver’s ears. The short 365 Monte Carlo-type gearbox is very responsive and gives a lot of feel. Only tall people will be disadvantaged when pulling out and surviving in this small cockpit. This rare and exotic Jidé is part of the French automotive heritage of the early 70s and can be used, among other things, on the Tour Auto, the Monte Carlo Historic Rally and the Tour de Corse Historic.
