Description
L'Atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale this exceptional Jidé 1600 S in a unique aesthetic configuration created by Fernando Costa, an internationally renowned artist, on the occasion of the 2019 Tour Auto. An artisanal French manufacturer, Jidé, founded and run by Jacques Durand, produced just 133 cars between 1969 and 1974. In its early days, the marque used a mechanical base derived from the Renault 8 Gordini. Over time, the engine evolved into more powerful versions, culminating in the 1600S, powered by the Renault 12 Gordini engine, which was also found in the Alpine A110 SC. This rare and exotic Jidé embodies a piece of French motoring heritage from the 1970s. It is extremely discreet on the market, and even more so in such a configuration.
A genuine road-legal racing car, it took part in the 2019 Tour Auto and remains eligible for a number of historic events, making it an ideal candidate for classic motor sport enthusiasts, and it has a historic technical passport valid for the next 10 years.
The example we present here benefited from a complete restoration in 2018.
The entire vehicle has been carefully reviewed, optimised and prepared with performance in mind, with a clear focus on competition use. The car is accompanied by a complete file including invoices, as well as detailed technical documents such as tuning instructions, assembly guides and maintenance advice.
Mechanically, the car is delivered with two new R16TS engines, prepared and to be run-in. The engine currently fitted has been specifically optimised for rally competition, notably for events such as the Tour Auto, while the second engine is tuned for circuit use, offering performance suited to more intensive use on the track.
The 5-speed gearbox works perfectly, with precise guidance and rapid gear changes worthy of a real racing car, while the clutch is in excellent condition and shows no signs of wear.
As for the chassis, it is perfectly tuned for rally use, all the running gear is in excellent condition and the adjustable suspension gives this 640kg Jidé a uniquely sporty ride. The wheels are in perfect condition and fitted with new Nankang 888Rs. As for the bodywork, the covering created by artist Fernando Costa that makes it unique is in excellent condition. The interior is fully equipped for historic rally competition, with all the necessary instrumentation and gauges close at hand. There is also a Sparco two-channel radio and an OMP steering wheel in new Alcantara, offering excellent grip and a decidedly sporty look. The car is supplied with a large number of additional parts. In view of the exceptional condition, unique history and rarity of this example, we are asking €89, 999. Trade-in possible. Technical inspection: OK Delivery possible throughout Europe.
