Description

The Atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer you this exceptional Jidé 1600 S for sale, in a unique aesthetic configuration designed by Fernando Costa, an internationally renowned artist, for the Tour Auto 2019.
As a French craft constructor, the company Jidé, founded and run by Jacques Durand, produced only 133 cars between 1969 and 1974.
Initially the marque used a mechanical basis derived from the Renault 8 Gordini.
Over time the mechanics evolved into more powerful versions, culminating in the 1600S, which was fitted with the Renault 12 Gordini engine, also found in the Alpine A110 SC.
This rare and exotic Jidé embodies a piece of 1970s French automotive heritage.
It is extremely discreet on the market, and even more so in such a configuration.
It is truly a race car with road registration.
It has taken part in the Tour Auto 2019 among other events and remains eligible for numerous historic races, making it an ideal candidate for classic motor sport enthusiasts.
Incidentally, it carries a historic technical passport valid for the next ten years.

The example we are presenting here underwent a complete restoration in 2018.
The entire vehicle has been meticulously overhauled, optimised and prepared for performance, with a clear focus on competition use.
The car is accompanied by a full file containing invoices and detailed technical documents such as setup guides, assembly instructions and maintenance notes.

Mechanically, the car is supplied with two new, prepared and run-in engines of type R16TS.
The currently fitted engine has been specially optimised for rally competition, particularly for events like the Tour Auto.
The second engine, by contrast, is tuned for track use and offers a power suitable for more intensive track running.

The five-speed gearbox works flawlessly, with precise feel and snappy gear changes, like a real race car, and the clutch is in excellent condition with no signs of wear.

The suspension is perfectly tuned for rally use, the whole chassis is in excellent condition and the adjustable suspension gives the 640 kg Jidé a unique sporting handling.
The wheels are in perfect condition and shod with new Nankang 888R tyres.
The bodywork is in excellent condition and was given a unique cover by artist Fernando Costa, making the car stand out.
This artist’s signature décor is a homage to Motul, the team's sponsor and the Tour Auto 2019 event sponsor.

The interior is fully equipped for competition in historic rallies, with all the necessary instruments and gauges within reach.
The car comes with a large selection of spare parts.

Given its exceptional condition, unique history and rarity, we are asking €89, 999. Part/ exchange possible.
Technical inspection: OK. Delivery across Europe possible.

Up to 36 months warranty. French registration as a collectible.
