A rare opportunity to own a magnificent piece of Belgian motoring history, this beautifully preserved 1913 Minerva Type GG features elegant Landaulette bodywork built by Cunard Motor & Carriage Company. Powered by a robust 4-cylinder, 4, 396cc jacket-valve engine developing 26bhp and mated to a 4-speed gearbox, the car drives remarkably well, reaching a comfortable 70-80kph.
Provenance and restoration: Seen as new in Ireland. Acquired in the early 1960s in the UK from Mr Hancock by Jan Bruijn's father (Automuseum Deventer and Galeria Style E Auto). Family owned since the 1970s.
It underwent a complete, high-quality restoration in the 1970s-1980s and is still in excellent condition. Highlights: Fitted with rare period accessories. Comes with a set of original black and white photographs, including images of the car taking part in European rallies, such as the 1966 Paris-Monte-Carlo, driven on its own wheels.
This car is well known to enthusiasts, having been exhibited at many prestigious events, including the Concours d'Elegance and RAI exhibitions.
