Description

An authentic intergenerational English icon, beautifully restored!

VEITURA is particularly pleased to present for sale this British icon born in the 1960s and that has undergone numerous variants and evolutions.

The "Mini", originally Morris Mini Minor and Austin Seven, released simultaneously, started life as an entry-level car designed following the Suez Canal crisis for BMC by Anglo-Greek engineer Alec Issigonis. After only a short period of study, it was manufactured in a residential area of Birmingham, England.

It would later be sold under several brands known today such as Austin, Morris, Rover, Leyland … and even under Spanish Authi and Italian Innocenti licenses, before becoming its own marque in 1969.

Our magnificent MORRIS Cooper 1000 MK2 is ISLAND BLUE with an Old English White (OEW) roof. It is a French-spec two-SU-HS2 carburettors version (four-cylinder 998 cc transverse engine, left-hand drive). It is fitted with a four-speed manual gearbox with synchronised gears. It was professionally and meticulously restored in 2020 (full dossier, invoices and detailed steps available), before the current owner bought it as a “love at first sight” purchase … who wanted to acquire a model similar to the one from his youth, owned in 1968 …

It is in very good general condition in every respect, with especially a bodywork and paintwork that look superb, faithful to the original version and without defects. The photos speak for themselves …

The interior upholstery is in very good used condition and is black: the rear bench in vinyl is complemented by two BB Seats bucket seats of superb appearance. The dashboard matches the model and has been enhanced with an tachometer and a 35 cm NARDI sport steering wheel. Seatbelts are fitted.

The chassis and sills are in excellent condition, with no corrosion. Note the presence – as with Cooper S – of a second 25 L fuel tank to extend range, with two ASTON-keyed caps (see photos).

This exemplar was first registered in October 1969 and has belonged to its current owner since July 2020. Our seller is a keen collector of classic cars and has owned several very fine pleasure vehicles. A trained automotive mechanic with a rich professional history, he was a member of several clubs, a lover of “Passion” motoring gatherings, and he carries out maintenance and servicing himself, using genuine parts and components. Few things have been done since purchase, as less than 3, 000 km have been covered since the full restoration …

Notable are the almost-new 165-70 R10 tyres (mounted on 4. 5 X 10 Cooper S-type steel wheels from 1969), a new RC Maniflow exhaust matching the original, a Dynamo paired with a 12V battery in a modernised configuration with the negative lead grounded, …

Nothing needs doing on the car today! A final service and oil change is planned before sale. Documentation and a few parts will be provided.

As of today, the odometer shows 66, 850 km on a five-digit display.

The registration is Normal. The last Technical Control certificate was issued in September 2025 and approved, as with all previous ones.

A 2020 British Heritage certificate is included in the file.

Beautiful outings with fellow enthusiasts and scenic runs await you with this superb, reliability-boosted exemplar … which garners goodwill at every outing thanks to its timeless look and … its gloriously racing past!

The asking price is well positioned for a vehicle of this quality in today’s market, particularly with the equipment and accessories installed and supplied for sale, including:

- Two handsome wing mirrors on both sides,
- Bucket-type sport and comfortable seats,
- Recently installed long-range headlights,
- An additional Neiman-type steering wheel lock for security,
- A pretty tachometer,
- A dual-horn with compressor,
- ASTON-keyed fuel caps,
- The metal window-latch locks of the famous sliding windows,
- The original workshop manual and related documentation,
- …

We invite interested parties to discover this MORRIS Cooper 1000 Mk2 without delay by contacting VEITURA to organise a viewing with the owner, and of course for further information!
