Presented in 1958 at the Turin Motor Show, the 2000 series succeeds the Alfa Romeo 1900.
It was Alfa Romeo's flagship model before the arrival of V6-powered models in the 1970s.
Produced from 1958 to 1962, the Spider version was designed and built by the Milan-based coachbuilder Touring.
Very pure styling, elegant lines typical of the 1950s.
Built to the Superleggera method (tubular chassis covered with aluminium panels).
Total production of the Spider Touring 2000: around 3, 443 units
Less produced than the saloon version (2000 Saloon), making it more sought-after today.
It is one of Alfa Romeo's last models to be largely hand-built.
Its classic design makes it an icon of post-war Italian styling.
The Spider 2000 Touring was often seen in European films of the 1960s, where it symbolised Italian elegance, sportiness and romance.
