The Appeal

After the war, Sweden had developed a focus on modernisation and motorisation. Volvo was at the forefront of these developments with the PV444, which they had been developing as early as the 1930s. Commonly known as the 'Humpback' thereafter, it was in 1958 that the model was updated with the PV544 - with three different performance levels.

The PV544 Sport in particular carried the illustrious B18 engine, paired with twin SU carburettors - offering a substantial 135 hp. Needless to say, the car was a perfect match for rallying and racing - a tradition that still continues today.

This Volvo PV Sport was restored in 2005/2006 with that in mind, and the paintwork has held up well. The car retains its classic charm, with straight bodywork and good condition chrome and bright trim. Registered in Sweden, this car's rally conversion includes a roll cage, rally seats, and four-point harnesses.
