The plus
Born in the post-war period in France, the Citroën 2CV was exactly the car the nation needed. France's road network was in poor condition, a problem the 2CV overcame with an amazing suspension capable of absorbing huge bumps. A small air-cooled twin-cylinder engine provided the propulsion and its basic bodywork proved cheap and simple to manufacture. A complete success, the 2CV remained in production for decades, and we are delighted to present this example dating from 1978.
Purchased by the current owner in 2014, this Citroën has been carefully maintained by him, who is only the third registered owner. It underwent a complete refurbishment in 2021, leaving only the front and rear bench seat upholstery to be restored. The chequered design on the front doors adds a unique touch.
The car has been regularly maintained, with the last major service carried out in December 2023. This included an oil change, replacement oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, and replacement spark plugs, coil, valve stem seal, carburettor seal, exhaust and intake manifold seal, fuel pump seal, and more.
