Highlights
- Advisory-free MOT valid until 7th July 2024
- Only 64,244 miles on the odometer
- Recently serviced and fitted with a new timing belt in readiness for its next owner
The Appeal
Regarded as the spiritual successor to the legendary 205 GTI, the Peugeot 106 GTI was to be one of the last old-school French hot hatchbacks, proving immensely popular during the later ‘90s. Weighing in at well under a ton and propelled by a peppy 1.6-litre fuel-injected petrol engine, the GTI handled like a go-kart and boasted ample performance to have some serious fun.
This 1999 example is remarkably well-preserved with only 64,244 miles on the clock. Coming from the Channel Islands, it has spent most of its life performing short journeys and has also avoided the salty winter roads of mainland Britain. The 106 is also commendably original and the vendor reports that everything still works exactly as it should. Following a recent new timing belt, battery, brakes and exhaust manifold springs, this Peugeot awaits its next custodian.
