While its German rivals focussed on high technology, Jaguar took suitably more relaxed approach to the business of delivering a very good GT car. The XK8 had been a long time coming but when it arrived it was a very Jaguar car: relaxing, supremely comfortable and very, very smooth.
The formula worked so well that it required little change during the car’s long production run. The most notable changes came in 2002 when the V8 engine was enlarged to a historically appropriate 4.2litre and the gearbox was changed to 6spd, two changes that enthusiasts of these cars highly value.
This low mileage convertible was one of the first on the line to benefit from those changes. Its condition reflects the sparing use and it comes with a usefully long MOT.
