Honda Accord Type R – Stunning Condition
The Honda Accord Type-R (ATR) was produced from 1998 to 2002 using the CH1 Accord chassis and naturally aspirated 2. 2-litre four-cylinder DOHC "Red Top" VTEC motor that produced over 200bhp. The car also boasted, stiffer suspension & chassis, Helical limited-slip-differential, twin-piston brakes, dual exhaust system, 17-inch alloys, Xenon headlights, Recaro seats and Momo steering wheel.
At Milestones we are always on the look-out for classic “sleepers” and when a regular customer offered us an absolutely stunning Type-R from his private collection we simply could not resist!
Finished in Versuvio Red with charcoal sports interior and just three owners this Type-R has covered a warranted 64k miles from new. The history folder contains old style V5 documents, MOT history, Service Book with twelve main dealer/ specialist service stamps and a variety of invoices. The car was originally purchased from Brighton Honda before passing through Church’s Performance Cars to the current keeper for his collection.
Recent service (2019 – in excess of £800) included:
· Replacement Cam-belt
· Waxoly application to rear sub-frame & inner sills
· Replacement Catalytic Converter
· Oil/ Air/ Fuel Filters, Spark Plugs etc
On the road the car does not disappoint with the VTEC engine coming alive above 5, 000rpm – top speed a shade over 140mph/ 0-60mph in around 7seconds - and road holding that feels like the car is simply on rails.
