Austin 1000 Van (6cwt) – Prize Winning Van.
The Morris 1000 saloon designed by Alec Issigonis was introduced at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1948 and the 5cwt commercial van followed in 1953. Used and abused by large and small businesses alike the late version Austin is rare, survivors in good condition even rarer
Our Austin van was registered in 1970 and has had only five owners from new. This stunning light commercial was restored by the previous owner and presents remarkably well. The van benefits from a good quality respray approximately ten years ago, new carpets, seats and is a lovely drive with the side exhaust providing that well known Morris 1000 “purp”…all be it an Austin!
In recent years the van has been used by a local vintner as a promotional vehicle and more recently she has been owned by a local enthusiast who has won a number of prizes at local classic car meetings. She drives remarkably well, always starts first time keeps up well with modern traffic and is only being sold to make space for the next classic purchase.
We recommend early viewing of this lovely, late Austin 1000 van. She is ready to simply use/ enjoy and will provide the new owner with much pleasure for many years to come.
