The Appeal
It's impossible to exaggerate the historical significance of the Jaguar XK120. At the time of its 1948 debut, it was the fastest production car in the world, and its flowing lines and potent 3.4-litre twin-cam six have ensured its place as one of the most coveted post-war classics. The OTS (Open Two Seater) is the purest expression of the XK120, a genuine roadster with timeless proportions.
This 1952 example was imported from the USA in 2018 and subsequently underwent a ground-up restoration in Poznań, Poland. The vendor states that virtually all components are new or professionally restored, with total expenditure exceeding €115,000: a figure that excludes the cost of the base vehicle itself.
The car's authenticity is underpinned by a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate confirming matching numbers, and the accompanying documentation is extensive, including a purpose-made restoration book, a folder of invoices and receipts, and a bespoke Drivers' Manual. Having covered approximately 1,000 kilometres since completion, the car has already been shown at the Classica Mierzecin Concours d'Elegance organised by Novol.
For those seeking a well-documented, thoroughly restored XK120 OTS ready for rallies, concours events and spirited touring, this is well worth a closer look.P1085612.jpg874.61 KB
