The Appeal

With the benefit of hindsight, we can say with all certainty that the once-dominant British motorcycle industry didn't stand a chance against the might of the Japanese Honda CB750 - the world's first 'superbike'. Entering a market where most bikers were familiar with crude pushrod twins, here was a machine with a transversely-mounted SOHC inline-four, a five-speed gearbox and electric start. Even the colour schemes were a quantum leap ahead of the staid maroon or black liveries still favoured by many Brit machines at the time.

Resplendent in its factory-correct Candy Gold, this 1970 Honda CB750 is the hallowed "K0" with a pressure diecast engine. It ticks every box a discerning collector would want: Correct engine/frame numbers, correct colour scheme, correct HM300 exhausts - the list goes on... Even the NGK Gold spark plugs are New Old Stock!

This bike has undergone a mammoth rebuild, dismantled into some 2,500 parts that were then refurbished or replaced and reassembled. It has been ridden around 2,000 since completion of the work, far enough to bed-in the rebuilt engine while leaving the bike in restoration-fresh condition.
The Honda's impressive history is highlighted by its accolade as a runner-up at the National Motor Museum Beaulieu Classic Bike meet. With a comprehensive collection of invoices, a NOS Owner's Manual and even NOS parts labels, this CB750 is an incredible find for motorcycle collectors.
