The Appeal

The Land Rover Defender is still the backbone of much of the country's agricultural trade, just like the Land Rover before it. These cars continue to represent the best of Solihull; a car that simply runs and runs. A go-anywhere, do-anything vehicle that's as at home in military campaigns as it is trawling up the Dales.

Of all the Defenders, the 300Tdi engine is particularly sought after for its reliability, torque, and relative simplicity compared to later powerplants - perfectly sitting between utility machinery and a usable, eminently drivable car. It's aged remarkably well, and is still clamoured for by enthusiasts.
