The Appeal
The 996-generation Porsche 911 has undergone a significant reappraisal in recent years, and the Carrera 4S sits at the heart of that renewed interest. Often described as a "depressurised Turbo," the 4S pairs the Turbo's muscular wide-body shell, powerful brakes, four-wheel drive system and uprated suspension with a naturally aspirated 3.6-litre flat-six, a combination that delivers striking visual presence, all-weather confidence, and an engaging driving experience without the complexity of forced induction.
This 2004 example is presented with 54,857 miles recorded and is fitted with the Tiptronic S semi-automatic gearbox. The vendor describes the car as being in very good condition throughout, and there are invoices on file for an all-important IMS bearing replacement in July 2019, as well as a water pump replacement in May 2022, both carried out by the renowned Porsche specialist Cavendish.
For those seeking a well-presented 996 in the desirable C4S specification, this example warrants serious consideration.
