This Vanquish is from the last year of production and is hence one of the last cars produced at the long lived Aston Martin factory in Newport Pagnell. These late production cars are now regarded as the finest of their type featuring a myriad of detail changes and upgrades including a much improved interior with the most obvious change being a larger navigation system screen.
This example finished in Meteorite Silver, a great shade for the Vanquish, ticks all of the desirability boxes, it has covered only 13, 700 miles in the hands of just three owners, it has a full Aston Martin service history and what makes it especially rare and great is the Aston Works six speed manual conversion. This removing the only Achilles heel of the model, the rather truculent paddle shift clutch-less transmission.
A complete history file makes it easy to detail the life of this Vanquish. It was supplied when new on the 3 April 2007 by Aston dealer Lancaster, based in Reading, to the first owner who sold it on just three months later with delivery mileage to the second owner. This second owner proved to be rather more long term, keeping the Vanquish until 2015 and 10, 000 miles. During his stewardship the car was maintained perfectly as indicated in the original stamped service book and detailed in invoicing on file. Servicing was bi-annual or annual as per schedule and completed initially at Aston Works Service, and latterly by Aston main dealer, Stratton Motor Company.
In 2015 the last owner purchased the car, sending it several months later to Aston Works Service at Newport Pagnell for a full evaluation, service and for that expensive rare and desirable six speed manual gearbox conversion. In addition, it was decided at this point to re-trim the interior to a bespoke specification in the current pleasing shade of beige featuring leather and Alcantara. This took some time due to the owner’s insistence that the work be completed by Aston master trimmer Jean who had completed the interior trim on this car when originally built.
This special Vanquish has been very carefully stored and driven to date and has continued to be maintained by Aston Works Service, the last inspection and service being completed on the 11 December 2020 at 13, 454 miles.
Well, this really is as good as a Vanquish can get.
