YOU instinctively start whistling The Sweeney theme tune when you see this "Jag." Or at least I do anyway.
It's the Daimler Sovereign version of the Jaguar 420, dry stored for many a year and with the last owner for 42 years! All the same, when you see that rear end, you can just imagine it swinging around the streets of London in front of the TV cameras at about 6am. Regan and Carter in hot pursuit in their Granada as the villains speed and smash their way around the Manor. Great stuff!
Anyway, this proud old girl is an ideal project for someone. Yes, she is a project. She started today on the button first time and drove around the yard even if she sounded a bit growly. You probably would do if someone had just awoken you from a 42-year-old sleep! Power steering works, auto gears work and she even stopped!
Interior not too bad with navy leather and wood. No headlining though. Passenger front footwell needs metal repair towards the sill while the two rear pans, strangely enough, have gaps in the middle of them. The driver's floor appears to be pretty decent with just a smallish hole. Sills are probably crusty beneath the paint although a lot of the underside structure does not look too bad. No promises, just saying. There is a car there!
Boot floor, big enough for a dead villain, is in incredibly good condition - including the spare wheel section!
So there you go. A project. "You're nicked son. We're The Sweeney and we haven't had our dinner!"
