This Mercedes Benz 280E saloon in Classic White with black full-leather trim and standard wheel embellishers, is a fine example of the W123 series Mercedes produced in the 1970s-80s. Arguably the top-of-the-range model of this W123 series (of which 9 models were produced), it is renowned for its compactness, its flawless, simple looks, and its uncomplicated functionality.
Even with 124, 150 miles on the clock, the car still operates impeccably. The Mercedes Benz 280E has a six-cylinder, fuel injected engine, of which doesn't provide large amounts of power, but it does render an effortless drive. This combined with its charismatic demeanour make it all the more desirable, and this specific example is no different.
Also importantly to note, the car underwent a major restoration over 2 years from 2011 to 2012, which was completed by Mark Cosovich, a big name in the Mercedes Benz W123 world. Throughout this restoration, numerous aspects of the car were either changed or upgraded. These include; a full body repaint, an all new braking system, new exhaust, Goodyear Eagle tyres, new battery, new radiator, new shock absorbers, new ball joints, new fuel pump assembly, and new roll bar mountings.
Additionally, the engine, differential, and automatic gearbox have been fully serviced. It has also received upgraded steel wheels, chrome embellishers, chrome grill inserts, and pretty much anything that was showing wear was replaced. Even the axles and subframes were powder-coated for future longevity. Alongside this, a sunroof service was done, and the chrome trims were replaced. The document that records all these adjustments was written by Mark Cosovich himself, who makes note of all the work completed on this vehicle, with him even remarking, 'the paint finish on the car is absolutely fabulous, probably the best we've ever done'.
