The Appeal
The Ferrari GTS Turbo represents the pinnacle of Ferrari's 2-litre V8 models developed specifically for the Italian market. The country's punitive tax laws on high-displacement cars prompted several manufacturers to work around the problem with lower capacity offerings, using technologies like turbocharging to up the horsepower.
As the final and most powerful iteration of this series, this late example harnesses the same turbocharging technology Ferrari was implementing in their legendary 288 GTO and F40 models, drawing directly from their Formula 1 experience.
This 1988 car stands out for its originality and provenance, with matching numbers, predominantly original paint, and complete documentation. With just 61,946 km on the odometer and having benefited from a turbocharger overhaul in 2018 and service in 2022, this rare Targa model is reportedly ready to enjoy.

Complete with original onboard tool kit
Targa top reportedly in good working order
A Targa-topped red Ferrari can't help but conjure up images of moustache-laden Tom Selleck as Magnum PI driving a similar 308 (mostly sideways) around Hawaii. The GTS Turbo is visually similar to the 308's successor, the 328, the main distinguishing feature being its alternative powerplant. As the photographs attest, this is a very presentable example in great condition for its age and considering its impressive originality.

The vendor muses that the GTS Turbo benefits from greater torque at lower engine speeds compared to the visually similar 328 and delivers more thrust at mid-range revs than its naturally aspirated counterpart. We're informed that this example drives well, ready for its new owner.image.png1.92 MB
