The Appeal
Perhaps we should be grateful that MG never exploited the B’s potential, because it has given enthusiasts a chance to be creative. Few, we suspect, have been as creative as the previous keeper of this ‘73 roadster because it is fitted with a 1,950cc engine to which is bolted a supercharger. Yes, a supercharger.
The improvements to this very pretty British Racing Green car go far beyond merely simple add-ons. The suspension, brakes, and suspension have all been upgraded to match the extra power, and there is a genuine Maniflow exhaust. A set of low-profile tyres with Minilite-style 15-inch alloys keeps things planted while Sebring front and rear modifications dial up the aesthetics.
The vendor acquired the car from his friend, who did the work, in 2020. Since then he tells us that he has invested round £4,000 to improve and maintain the car. The list of that work is lengthy and detailed below. It covers brake, suspension and clutch systems and includes a refurbished rear diff.
The car is in very good condition across the bodywork and interior. It comes with a useful fibreglass roof in white. For those who like their Bs with a little more buzz, this is definitely worth further investigation.

“The car is a real head turner, looking the part in BRG along with the Sebring front and rear panels. Understated but eye-catching, handsome in an individual way and that’s from stationery. The sound is a real treat, not too loud but loud enough to tell you this is no ordinary MGB. The cheeky number plates sit perfectly and so far haven’t been a problem.
“The driving experience? Thats the best part. Smooth progressive torque taking the car over 100 mph with ease. Positive steering and sharp handling with the distinctive sound of the Moss supercharger and the Maniflow exhaust.”
