The Appeal
The Volkswagen 1303LS represents the final evolution of the Beetle lineage, featuring the curved windscreen and improved dashboard of the late-model Super Beetles. While this infused a gentle touch of modern design and put off a few purists, it's undeniable that this is the most usable of the legendary German 'people's car'.
Now, if you take that formula and put it into the better-built and rather more luxe Karmann convertibles, you've got a very desirable, drivable classic. A top-down summer classic, no less, loaded with character and a very attractive yellow livery. Put simply, this little car has nothing but good going for it. It's not one to miss!
Having been showcased in the West London Volkswagen Museum and featured in Volks World magazine, this 1973 car has a fascinating provenance and has very clearly been cherished. The car underwent a major rebuild in 2005, and since then has been kept in proper storage with a record of only limited use.
It's a smasher - beautifully presented, bright and accompanied by an impressive history file.
