This stunning MG RV8 is an extremely sought after and collectable car, with fewer than 2000 cars having been made worldwide, and only 409 for the UK market. 

As a total rework of the MGB platform this yielded a sporty and luxurious vehicle, with excellent road presence and a fantastic 3.9L V8 engine rumble. 

This example is utterly stunning, having been owned by 2 keepers, both of whom were collectors and preserved this car perfectly and with almost no distance driven, this car is in like-new condition.

This wonderful machine has very little paperwork, however in this exceptional case that is a good thing, as this incredible machine has only covered 1,732 verified kilometres since new. Only 1,983 RV8’s were made, with 1,574 being destined for the Japanese market and exported. This is one such machine having been bought new in Japan then immediately stored in a collection, where it was kept and preserved in superb condition.

It was then acquired by a UK based collector who imported and registered the car in 2017. As such it only has 2 previous keepers and this very rare car has been frozen in time in brand new condition. To preserve originality, the original speedometer in kmh and the Japanese market specifications were retained throughout.

The interior of this car is, in a word, immaculate. It is totally original and has not been tampered with in any way. The theme is luxurious cream leather and copious amounts of glossy wood veneer trim, in fact the entire dashboard is wood finished. All of the wood trims are in stunning shape and are clean and well polished. This luxury finish is perfectly contrasted with striking black instrumentation and sporty black 3-spoke steering wheel, which as with the rest of the car are also in sublime condition. 

Driver and passenger alike are sure to feel completely cosseted in the luxurious cream leather upholstery which is still soft and supple. Incredibly well preserved with no visible blemishes or marks. The carpets in the footwells and in the rear luggage compartment behind the seats are gloriously clean and look totally unused. This sublime state of care continues to the door cards which show no signs of damage or wear. The thick and plush boot carpets including the spare tyre cover are very luxurious in mint condition. 

Due to the incredibly low mileage covered, this car is totally immaculate and is totally original and unmolested. The speedometer is the original and is marked in kmh. A truly exceptional example and an excellent balance between sporty simplicity and luxury cruising.

An exceedingly rare colour, this stunning Oxford blue exterior is truly incredible, totally original and unrestored. It has been lovingly preserved year after year to maintain the finish, and as a result this car is a real sight to behold. Undoubtedly one of the most impressive examples, everything is as you would expect, the silver spoked alloy wheels are free from any damage or scuffs, the tyres are all matched and in excellent shape and all of the panels and bumpers clean and well polished with no blemishes or damage to be found.

The light lenses are totally clear and clean and free of any marks or cracks, and the window glass is in equally excellent shape with no cracks or scratches visible. The tasteful chrome elements are clear and polished to a mirror finish, and the MG badging is also in perfect condition. The plastics are also wonderful with no signs of staining or sun bleaching. The black soft top is exceedingly clean, with no signs of any marks or blemishes and free of mould or stains and works exactly as it should. The rear screen is also clear and free of damage. 

Although a rework of the original MGB platform, almost all of the panels for this model were new and redesigned giving a car that had a very imposing and aggressive stance. Quite the statement on the road and one of the finest examples remaining today, basically in concours condition.

Mechanically this car is impossible to fault, totally clean underneath and under the bonnet, the entire engine bay is as clean as can be. The incredibly low mileage is verified and the car has not required any work or repairs at all as it has been properly stored in the hands of collectors since new. The big 3.9L engine can muster the car to 60mph in under 7 seconds if required and is a sight to behold under the bonnet, with the excellent striking black intake manifold and bold MG logo. There is no doubt that this is a true sports car and is very capable. There is no visible corrosion and the car really does look as though it has just rolled off of the factory floor. Absolutely superb throughout.

This is a very special car and certainly not to be overlooked, in totally original, low mileage, unrestored and in concours condition no less. It is very special to find a car in this state and that has been kept by collectors since new. An investment grade vehicle that is a real stunner and certain to please for many years to come.
