The Appeal

Introduced in 1997, the 996-generation Porsche 911 represented a major turning point for the model line, bringing an all-new platform, redesigned interior and the first water-cooled flat-six engine fitted to a production 911. Once controversial among purists, the 996 is now increasingly appreciated for its compact proportions, usable performance and engaging analogue character.
