The Appeal
Before the name migrated to the firm’s convertible, the Corniche denoted Rolls-Royce’s very stylish two-door saloon version of the Silver Shadow. The car was originally developed Mulliner Park Ward, receiving light aesthetic alterations when it became the Corniche.
Between 1971 and 1977 just 780 of these cars were built, far fewer assembled in the RHD configuration of this very early example. It is a really handsome car in dark burgundy paintwork with black Everflex vinyl roof and beige leather cabin.
The history file is said to be extensive. A highlight includes £7,500 of work by main dealer Michael Poles in 2005. The front seats were retrimmed in 2012 and the dashboard veneers renovated a year later.

The vendor acquired the car in 2019 and has clearly prioritised its originality. There are a few minor points to note, such as to the front bonnet, but they don’t obviously detract from the overall appeal and would, if needed, be easy to remedy.
The joy of the Corniche is that it a comfortable and very usable touring car. This one has the useful transparency of lengthy, advisory-free MOT valid to September 2026.
The vendor says:
"Generally presents well with a few minor imperfections on paint under close scrutiny. Still turns heads and gets very positive comments wherever it goes."
